A small team, rooted in Vietnam
We are a destination management company based in Ho Chi Minh City, designing private journeys through Vietnam and Cambodia for travellers from around the world.
Our story
Why we began
Safforia began with a simple observation: too many visitors to Vietnam and Cambodia were seeing them through a coach window, moved on every morning to the next sight. The places we know are something else: slow afternoons on the water, a meal in someone’s home, the hush of the hills before dawn.
So we set out to plan journeys the way we would want to travel ourselves: privately, at an easy pace, with people we trust at every step. We are not the largest company in Vietnam, and we have no wish to be. We would rather know every guest by name.
Our philosophy
Slow, private and responsible
Slow
Fewer places, longer stays. Two nights wherever we can, short drives and mornings that are never rushed. You see more when you are not hurrying.
Private
Your own car, driver and guides, and stays chosen for space and quiet. No coaches, no group tours and no shared transfers.
Responsible
We favour locally owned hotels and homestays, pay fairly, avoid exploitative animal experiences and choose cruise operators who manage their waste with care.
Local partnerships
Our journeys depend on long relationships with people we know and trust:
- Independent boutique hotels, river lodges and beach villas across Vietnam and Cambodia
- Small cruise operators on Ha Long Bay and Lan Ha Bay
- Hmong and Red Dao families who host walkers in the Sapa valleys
- Licensed local guides in every region, including temple specialists at Angkor
- Craft villages, cooks and boat families in the Red River and Mekong deltas
